After my fibre install, I did plan to get around to removing my now, completely redundant copper line myself - Then I read, that OpenReach would do it, if asked, and for free. I eventually found the form, here - https://openreach.my.salesforce-sites.com/form/?NRV
Once completed, last Friday, I received a call, from a very 'foreign female' the next day, on the Saturday afternoon, seeming to be a scammer, probing me for information, so I put the phone down. I then got an email, suggesting the order had been cancelled. I emailed back apologising, and explained the call had sounded very like a scam call.
I received an email this afternoon, Monday, from OR, saying to expect a call to arrange it, in a few minutes. The phone rang from OE, and we were able to discus what was needed - just the line snipped at the pole, over the road, and at the eaves of my home, I would remove the redundant internal bits myself, but all could have been included in the price (completely free).
