Reform Policies

It's idealistic claptrap to think there will be a world where everyone starts with the same then hands whatever they've earned back at the end. That sort of world will never exist, so you might as well just stop fighting for it, accept that the world is unfair and work with it to improve yourself as much as possible.

My grandad was a policeman my other grandad a railway worker, my dad studied hard and worked hard to gain professional qualifications. I did the same.

If you blame others you’ll never succeed
Similar here. Born in a council house, zero parental help beyond 18 as they didn't have any money to give. Now own a nice house outright with no debts, my own business and don't grovel to anyone.

I could have sat around and moaned but I was too busy getting a degree and doing various jobs.

But you’ve already said Reform won’t do that.
Reform have dropped their tax cut bribes to voters.

Farage lurves trickle down economics, he only cares about multi millionaire backers…….he will make the lives of 99% of his voters worse.

Have a look at America…..ordinary Americans are now much worse off.

Poor Ivor, posting tropes based on ignorance again.

The U.K. has fallen way behind on living standards for ordinary citizens compared to equivalent Western economies such as those in Europe

From the ft

Britain and the US are poor societies with some very rich people

Than when? America has always been a country full of a lot of very poor people.

I had a skim read, it sounds like they've cherry-picked a very socialist country to compare against.

As I said, I'd strongly suggest snapping yourself out of the bitterness and improving yourself. Instead of ranting on some DIY forum in the hope that this will somehow result in your life improving.

You now have your socialist government. So surely now we're living in utopia? Or do we need to wait a few years? Spoiler: It won't happen.

Americans are far worse off since Jan 2025 when Trump took over

tariffs on imported goods
electricity increases
gas increases
rent increases
healthcare about to go up by huge amount (only stopped at mo by Democrats)
high levels of job losses
farming sector damaged by trade wars
farming sector damaged by war on undocumented workers
people in SNAP benefits worse off
Veterans worse off

Farage is a wannabe Trump

oh so you think Norway is a "very socialist country" huh

Norway has a significantly higher gdp per capita than the UK,
Norway has more millionaires per capita than the UK

5.5M people, Poor Notch thinks Norway is comparable.

You don’t start becoming a net beneficiary if you’ve paid in more during your life than you take out.

Nobody should expect others to fund their retirement.

Awaits the “I’ve paid in all my life, I’m entitled..”
And wages should pay enough to do that.

Until then it's not likely to happen and we continue in the British way of those that can, pay more.

Even if they have to cut down the size of their next rowboat

And those that have more, pay a bit more.

I agree
