Reform will stop the small boats within two weeks ...

Correct, Nige just pinches MAGA policies and promises more benefits to fund them. And it might attract feckless people who wouldn’t otherwise bother voting.
The problem with Nigel is his lack of originality.
He should concentrate on the problems which are specific to the UK.
His Donald Trump tribute act is embarrassing.
It's a bit like Elvis Presley,he was the original, the UKs answer to Elvis was Cliff Richard.

Nigh on impossible. My 1st mortgage was just before my 23rd birthday and if my paternal grandfather had not parted company with £1k, I would have lost the semi.
We saved and put our own deposit down without any help from anybody.

Prices were within reach of normal wages.

Times have changed

So we agree, your nephew was an unusual case, not the normal.
My eldest also had no problem (but that was a few years back)so it seems pretty easy as long as you have the deposit....but obviously not for everyone

What do NI protest ants think of him?

If you really want it it is achievable
Not in all cases thoiugh, take me as a prime example. You would love to be like me but no matter how much you want it, to others and you is a sheer impossibility to get even close to my dashing looks. That's just life.

OMG

Im not making it up, he paid £230,000 and put down 20k, saving 5k per year when you're on about 30k it isnt hard.

Oh I didn't mention hes bought with his girlfriend.
So two people, at least one (maybe two) salary 50% above average for that age range and a house £70,000 below the average FTB house. They're also buying as a couple which means he only owns half a house.

Good for them, but you can see how if they were in a more average priced area they'd have struggled. If he wasn't on a very good salary for his age, they'd have struggled. If he wasn't buying as a couple he wouldn't have managed and wouldn't be for years.

One thing some people do is to look at an exception and say that because if one person managed, everyone can. And if they don't then it's because of individual failings. You might or might not be falling into that trap. This person has worked hard and has gotten lucky.

Im not falling into any traps, they've worked hard and done well...lucky? not so sure, I call it hard work and determination.

Did they move to a cheaper part of the country? If not then they were lucky, at least for home ownership, to be brought up in an area where it's affordable.

Hard work doesn't get you a long term relationship, solid enough to buy a house with someone at age 22. That's luck, or youthful over confidence.

Lucky to have parents that presumably weren't charging them rent.

Hard work and luck.
