Reform will stop the small boats within two weeks ...

The illegals, before Brexit, were breaking into lorries, clinging under their chassis to get here. Some of that continues, even today, but they developed a new method in the meantime, inflatable, massively over-loaded boats, where the illegals pay a relatively large sum of money, for the 'privilege' to gangs. Nowt much to do with Brexit, the illegals discovered they would be given a warm, and comfortable welcome, once here, and the gangs found they had a nice little earner, business opportunity, in providing a ferry service.
I used to sit, watching the news, almost in disbelief at what I was seeing.

Not so much the illegals clambering onto, into, under lorries, but the fact no one was doing anything to stop them!

This is why part of me wonders if it's all by design. Government seem incapable of stopping illegals coming in.

And tbh I have my doubts Reform will be one bit better.

I wonder how many of those supporters realise that he is planning to leave the international convention against torture. I believe that when he faces a proper grilling during an election, and he tells people that some of those asylum seekers will be sent back to be tortured and executed, then more moderate voters will quickly switch back to other parties.
Doubt it.

Stupid argument that it's caused by Brexit. Beefed up security at Calais caused them to turn to boats.

Deploy a stinger mid channel?

This country defended itself for centuries against invasion, now it pays government employees to go and pick up foreigners daily from the middle of the English channel
Almost every nation that invaded us by boat succeeded.
Romans, Saxons, Angles, Vikings, Normans ... The Spanish Armada failed, possibly the only one?

Most of Britain is a compassionate and caring country, saving people at sea is something we're proud of.

Providing refuge to those who need it is also something we're proud of.

The truth could be that the methods required to deal with the small boats , may not be acceptable in a democracy.

Of course now that Nigel Farage has told the world that the UK is the new North Korea, maybe this method may be more ecceptable.

Did you forget WWI and WWII ?

There has to be limits on our generosity!

We should be.

Wanting proper immigration control and stopping the boats is one thing. But Farage has whipped up his troops to such an extent that, even on here, they are calling for drowning/shooting those who even attempt it, or returning people to almost certain torture and death.

It's despicable ultra right wing bullshit that doesn't deserve the time of day by any decent person.

Coming soon to a Labor part policy.

Its difficult for any government, people don't want the asylum system abused, but wont pay taxes to fund arrangements for identifying the genuine from the economic. Far rage brilliantly exploits it and the gullible and the angry queue up to vote for him like they did for Brexhit.

most of britain is highly doubtful that these large gangs of young males invading our country need refuge, and its the virtue signalling looney left welcoming them who will get this wannabe Trump "Farage" elected

Although Farage is undoubtable a disaster - he would be a better bet than the multicultural hell hole the far left want for us

Assuming UK is in the international convention against torture (I don't know) Nigel hasn't said he's going to leave it. If we leave the ECHR it doesn't mean we must send anybody anywhere, we will have discretion if we believe they'll be at risk. It just means we won't have to admit all and sundry because of the outdated provisions of the ECHR.

Spain said that they will need millions of immigrants to maintain there economy ??

Well all those coming across on boats can be dumped in Spain ?
After all they are all doctors / engineers and professional blokes ? Not many nurses on the boats

Sorted :giggle:

We know that. Hence the fact that there needs to be a much more robust process for them when you get them when they arrive.

You tell me what happens to you if you paddle in a boat from Mexico around the border to California
