Unless things have improved drastically since I left the U.K., that's always the best policy when dealing with any local authority!
We redid the utility, I specifically asked them if the requirements had changed and if I needed anything special in there. Extractor fans, vents for tumble dryers etc. No, nothing like that they said.
When they came to sign it off, the first question they asked was "Where is the extractor fan?". Was like, you are f*cking joke right? In the end, I argued so much with them that we have a condensing dryer and no sink, they said to just put a vent in for a standard tumble dryer and they'll sign it off
Always, always, always do things like that in writing.
Next time you'll know not to get them involved!
