My bathroom has no window and only a small extractor fan, as a result all the skirting and around the door has gone yellow much to my dismay.

What is the quickest way to bring them back white, will bleach do or am i going to have to sand it all down?

If i sand it all down whats the best way of doing it, i dont have a sander and dont really want to buy one for one job, do i need to sand down to bare wood? Im thinking of using satin instead of gloss to stop it going yellow again does this require any extra preparation?

Key surface with 120 grade, take shine off gloss and denim (slight bumps and trapped dust particles.

Then water based satin wood x 2 coats

So its ok to just slightly sand to ensure its smooth and bump free? Whats the best tool to sand??

So do i sand with some coarse paper then fine paper then wipe it all down then 2 coats of satin paint?

Depends on the state of the job, and the required standard of finish.

Sanding is necessary only for keying the old paint surface, so 120 grade is fine. The same grade will work fine on de nibbing dust and particles.

If you have bubbling or semi peeling finish, then a harsher grade such as 80 grade will be required. Remember if you take so much paint off that your back to wood then primer and undercoat will be required.

Some satins are self undercoating (undercoat and top coat in one).
