Regular treated timber for decking

I want to use smooth decking for a new project. Is there any reason not to just buy sawn and treated 2x5 timber?

It will be rough as hell. If you can get it PAR go nuts.

Yeah it would need atleast the upper face planed.

I'm even thinking along the lines of regularised treated joists. Twice as thick as your average decking and not much difference in price.
