reinstating a chimney breast.

Hello,

Need to put back a chimney breast. The depth is only 30cm's.

Was going to build the chimney out of wood and plasterboard.

Is there a certain type/thickness of plasterboard to use.

Also do I need to pre cut a hole for a fire in the board (is there a

standed size hole) or is this best left to the fire installers.


Any info would be great!

I would say this project needs re-designing with professional/better advice.

Chimneys are supposed to be non combustible.

perhaps the o.p. means a faux or decorative chimney breast?
