‘Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him) will fight him (Dajjal), supported by the Muslims, and he will kill him at the gate of al-Ludd* (Lod), which is in Palestine, near al-Quds (Jerusalem). He will kill him with his spear, as it says in the sahih (authentic) hadith, and the Muslims who are with him will kill a great number of the Jews. It says in the hadith from the Prophet (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him) that the Muslims will fight the Jews, and will kill them and gain power over them, and trees and rocks will call out:
“O Muslim, O slave of Allah, here is a Jew; come and kill him.” and ‘Isa will kill the Dajjal and put an end to him.
*Lugh/Lud has transposed in to Celtic Mythology as Lugh/Llud (Irish and Welsh, respectively). Also,
'Lámhfada' (of the long arm) to honour his prodigious feats with weapons, notably a long throwing spear (as opposed to the Gae Bolga; a thrusting spear favoured by a later hero Cúchulain). Also,
Ildánach; a man skilled in all the arts. A demi-god, capable of ruling with wisdom and justice.
Many of the tales have travelled from the Middle East to the West: legends becoming myth as an oral tradition was the only method of passing on their story until later generations could write them down in the form recieved after many centuries.
If a radical Imam wishes to translate these as prophecies for his modern day adherents then it becomes a responsibility for more reasoned scholars to correct their misapprehension and disseminate a more accurate translation for popular culture to discern.
