hi there,
i'm planning on applying a 50mm celotex board to some internal windowless rendered walls and then sticking plasterboard over the celotex.

having read the celotex website, they suggest using battens over the celotex to hold it in position.

this sound pants to me.

can i just dot and dab the celotex to the render and then the plasterboard to the celotex?

opinions greatly appreciated!

I lined a wall recently with 50mm Kingspan - I fixed 75mm deep uprights and noggins to the wall, cut the insulation to be a tight fit into the spaces, banged it in and sealed around all of the edges, then boarded over the top, so I had wall - insulation - air gap - board.

I know that the timber will have a worse u-value than the insulation, but 75mm isn't that bad - no signs of localised bridges yet...
