Remembering the unkind brevity of a school report

Just read this one on the Telegraph web site:

In Norman Wisdom's report the teacher wrote: "The boy is every inch a fool, but luckily for him he's not very tall."

Things like that aren't written today because they found that it can be upsetting for the family. Strange that eh? :rolleyes: :rolleyes: If a teacher had written anything remotely like that about my son they'd be in need of dentures!

My headmistress at the time, God rest her soul, put in my final report,

"David is a charmer, but unfortunately examiners are mostly unimpressed by charm,"

She was right :)
