Removal of Roof Truss

Any experts out there that can offer some advice please.

I have a single garage attached to my house and am looking to remove the one central of the 5 'king' trusses to give me vertical space. I have spoken with a builder who says it can be done if he adds some timbers to strengthen other points. My concern is extra weight in winter ie snow etc.

Any advice from anyone please?

What do you mean by "king truss"?

A king truss or a king post truss is a method of roofing that dates back a while. These trusses are fairly chunky fellas that support purlins which in turn support the rafters.

Is it this type or roof that you have? Any chance of a piccy?
