:( Hi all, nobody could help on my last query, maybe this one. We have removed vinyl floor tiles which has left a very sticky residue, we have tried scraping, steam cleaner, wire wool with a cream abrasive cleaner [ this seems the best to date ] and methylated spirits all have been successful to varying degree's but the tiles are still sticky. Does any body know of a solvent that works,

What were the tiles you removed?

Karndean?
DIY store self adhesive?

What was underneth them?

wood?
concrete?
bitumen? - this is the answer I fear because you may have just removed part of your houses damp protection

more information would help folk answer your question!

And what are you going to put on the floor - tiles, wood, laminate, linoleum?
