Hello All
I removed my lathe and plaster ceiling earlier in the year and the dust gets everywhere even when you seal the room.
i am about to undertake in doing the next room and wondered if there was a dust extractor / pump that can be rented to put in this room with a pipe to outside while doing this.
if there is such a thing can someone let me know ?
thanks

Close the door and tap the edges with masking tape, all the way round including the bottom edge.

Open the windows and have a large fan, have the fan on rotation and start ripping the ceiling down. You will see the dust flying out of the window.

Don't forget face musk and goggles.

basically because i hear that the extra weight can bring the ceiling down anyway so a nice newly boarded ceiling covers this.
it also gives me the opertunity to spray all of the joists from below for woodworm and add pipe lagging to all of the heating pipes to protect the electric cables from excess heat to.
thanks

If you have to do all that, then yes, I'd agree.

(The ' weight' is a red herring, properly done you would have no issues)
