Hi, I have recently decorated a bedroom. I painted the skirting board with water based satinwood paint. I then had new carpet fitted, but the fitter has left scuffs marks along the bottom of the skirting board. I have tried wiping/scrubbing with water but the scuffs don't come off. I also tried white spirit but no luck either. Is there anything else worth trying?

A light abrasive, fine sandpaper or a scotch-brite pad.
You might have to give it a lick of paint afterwards.

Carpet fitters are A-holes! Some fitters can fit carpets if they care but more often than not they don't.
