Hi all,

Probably a dumb question, but I can't seem to find the answer. Is taking the head off a TRV in effect the same as removing the TRV, or should I replace the whole valve? (I have a room thermostat in the same room as the TRV, so I want to remove/disable the TRV.)

Thanks in advance,

I'm in same position, and just turned the TRV to max and loosened the head so it is still there but definately not pressing on the pin.

That should be sufficient.

If you take the head off a TRV it will be fully open. If this is a permanent arrangment then you should look to replace with a locksheild valve IMO, either that or just leave it on max.
