my mum has removed a 10inch deep freeze that was running round the top of her bedroom and it has removed all the paint with it.

the plan is to paint the room, but now we are left with this terrible mess of missing layers of paint all round the top of the wall.

I was just going to try and fill it with polyfilla, but have been looking at some of the treatments on the polycell website that look interesting, but expensive, so am not sure now.

any advice much appreiated.

Get some 'easifill' try B & Q or a decorator centre. get a 4" spatula type filling knife while your there. Mix a small ammount first to get the hang of it.. if you overload it will sand down easy but with a bit of practice you'll find how much to fill in ..Then when all dry touch in the filled areas with some thinned emulsion before coating up overall..

Good Luck..

Sorry, took me a while to twig, I had visions of a very long thin freezer!

Ditto confidentincompetent, you could try a plastering trowel as it has a longer edge and I think you get more control with the handle.
