Hi there,

My mate is looking at refurbing his bathroom and has asked me for some advice!

At the moment he has a downstairs loo directly below the bathroom. The soil stack is inside the house and rises up from the downstairs loo, through his bathroom, up in to the loft and out through the roof. Now ideally he would like to remove the stack that goes up in to the loft. So, is there any thing on the market that enables you to cap off the stack lower down? If yes, how high above the bathroom toilet can you cap it off?

Thanks in advance.

He wants to remove the pipework going up past the bath so he can move the location of the bath. It's a small bathroom so every little helps!

Can this valve be fitted below the cistern level?

no its got to be above the highest overflow level which will be you basin so for example it will still be 4ft high.
thats not going to give you any more room.

D'oh! See your point!

In that case I'll tell him to leave it.

Thanks for the advice
