I need to install a pair of 100 x 215 lintels below DPC, that will be supported at one end by the existing brickwork and a new 4" wall coming up from the toe of the existing footing. I plan to install a padstone that sits half on the existing brickwork and half on the new 4" block wall.

So I need to cut a hole in the wall that is 460 wide and 375 high.

Can I just cut the hole, or do I need to muck about with props to support the wall above until brickwork goes back in?

Cheers
