Removing chimney breast............

I am in negotiations to purchase a 2bed first floor maisonette, we are hoping to remove the chimney breast that currently sits in between the kitchen and the dinner table. There is access above via the loft space.

Could anyone tell me if this could be done and give a rough idea of cost?

Pretty sure they've had the breast removed underneath, young couple underneath have a share of the freehold with the lady we'd be buying the flat off.
