Removing concrete render from stone tips & equipment?

I am going to be removing the bottom 3 foot of render from the outside wall of our house which was added in 1982.

I've got an SDS drill and was wondering what other equipment would be a good idea. Also tips on removing it without destroying the stone would be very welcome!
