Removing digistat SCR?

My baxi boiler has a digistat SCR fitted. The digistat SCR has no lights so going to remove. ( no heating at mo just hot water)
Is it just a case of opening up boiler and removing wires joining SCR to boiler? Or is there then some settingAdjustments to be made?

i would imagine, removing it would result in the heating still being off.

why don't you replace it with a thermostat.

or a linking wire as a tempory measure to get the heating on
