Hi all.

Unfortunately I have some gaffer tape used to protect lead flashing from render mess. Due to the covid stuff it was left there for a long time and it got stuck.

What i did was to use hair dryer to heat it and remove some of the most stubborn part of it. The picture attached is what I am left with. Any idea of how i can remove it ?

I tried vinegar on a small area, it's not working and discolouring the lead.

Thanks in advance.

Oh I made this mistake taping up a broken window on a car, then leaving the tape on for too long! I think in the end I used petrol to dissolve it, certainly took something strong like that or acetone and plenty of elbow grease. Not sure what that would do to the lead though.

I used WD40, although i read that rubbing alcohol would also work. I will post the result up now.

Pink paste cleaning product and a non scratch scourer. Works every time! Best £1 I’ve ever spent.
