Cynthia, I would suggest something coarser than a regular scourer. No, not gcol . Get yourself one of those stainless steel scourers. The big ones are best . http://www.beeswift.com/spontex.htm

A green scotchbrite pad wrapped around a block of wood and used with hot water will shift it. It ain't a fun job but it'll work.

thankyou all for you wonderful help..i have now just finished tiling the walls and the floor looks great..just need to get a plumber in to finish the sink and shower
