Hi

I'm trying to strip the paint from my chimney breast to reveal a natural red brick finish.

The paint has come off easy enough but leaves a light grey covering which i believe to be lead.

Can anybody recommend a product for removing this?

I have tried a test patch with brick acid, nitromors and good old fashioned elbow grease, but this made no difference

Looking forward to any ideas - Thanks

If nitromors hasnt budged it then it may be emulsion..which wont be a problem lead wise.

You can buy a lead paint testing kit from Dulux trade centres, they may not have on in stock but should be able to sort one out for you.

I take it the current surface is that of brick already..you may need to hire a small grit blasting machine.
