I've only just realised that the car I bought privately in the spring has no lockable alloy nut key. So now I can't remove the locknuts. It is a Ford, as is my dads car, however his wheel key does not appear to fit my car (maybe they are subtely different for security?)

Any ideas how to remove the old nuts? Forcibly if neccessary, I can get a new set with key if needs be.

Thanks - Wattie

Sounds obvious but have you / can you contact the vendors?

Good idea. I suspect that a main dealer, or a tyre fitting shop, will also probably be able to get them off.

Do yours have a sort of adaptor nut, with pins in it?

Most tyre shops will have a tool to whip them off, but they won't be able to be used again.
Go into kwik fit or somewhere armed with a new set of locking nuts and get them to swap em.
