I've just put the first coat of Dulux waterbased acrylic eggshell on to grade 1400 lining paper. It's gone well except that in two places the paper bubbled quite substantially, about 4 inches across. (10cms). As the paint dried the bubbles reduced in size but are still about half of what they were.

Is there a way of getting rid of them without cutting out patches of wallpaper? I have another coat of paint to go on yet, by the way.

No easy way im affraid..the paper would have hardened with the paint.

Id recommend cutting around the bubble, undercoating the area with some thin undercoat, filling it and touching up with a roller before you do your last coat.

I was afraid you'd say that, Zampa. I'll do what you suggest and keep my fingers crossed for a fair result.

Thanks for your reply.

I had this happen to me at my current property, I quickly grabbed the de-humidifier and put that in the room, amazingly the bubbles disappered and the whole thing looked mint!!!

Done it a few times since to the same effect, dont know if its just a fluke with my house or not, But thought id share my findings with the forum as an option if it happens to someone else
