hi all how mght i remove the reidue plater from my maple floor ,the plasterer did not use sheets and left a real mess is there a chemical or what can i do? thanks all
So your plasterer didn’t use any dust sheets I don’t drop much these days but even I wouldn’t risk that; did you not think it strange he hadn’t layed anything down before he started prepping? It’s a pretty poor show, have you paid him?
If it’s fresh plaster, jsut water will get it of but cleaning up should be done immediately, once it’s been there a day or more it'll be well gone. You can use a plastic scourer/sponge on harder surfaces like glass, UPVC or melamine cill boards but it will probably scratch the wood floor, is it lacquered or oiled.
Get a small sponge or damp cloth wet it and squeeze the excess water out of it and lay it on top of the set plaster and leave it for a couple of hours, then it should just wipe off. Try this first on a small area that is not to noticeable to make sure it is not damaging or staining the floor, if it doesn't then cut a sponge or cloth up into small squares and dampen it up and cover all the residue plaster, if need be wet the cloth or sponge up if it drys out too quickly. This also works well if you get plaster on a radiator and it sets hard,,,,,
