Removing this cistern flush

I need to remove this to replace its seal but the fitting looks fragile and I don't want to break it. Can someone please tell me how - do I just turn it all anticlockwise?

The main black body needs to turn anticlockwise and the white basket base should stay still.

Many thanks E - will give it a go. I don't suppose you happen to recognise the make, so that I can get the correct size of flap washer in advance? Don't worry if not, I'll take it to a plumber's shop and match it up.
