dual flush cistern

hi ..I have managed to remove cistern lid by unscrewing dual flush ring ..but now after fixing problem in cistern,..I cannot get it back in place ..I screw it on after putting cistern lid on but the flush buttons just sit at the bottom of fitting and there is no pressure in the buttons to flush ...it doesn't seem to be attatched to anything ..help ..please

Hi ..yes ..lid on properly ...all bits attatched ...seem to remember that when it was fitted ...they had problem and said it was badly designed...its a mystery...but could do with diagram ..many thanks from damsel in distress

could be 101 different types of flush valve.

give us a pic of the internals of your cistern.

as kev said is it one thats connected by 2 rods ?
