I have a leak in my shower cubicle. This leak has been isolated by breaking one of the tiles which allowed me to gain access. I now need to try to repair the probem with the minimum amount of damage. I therefore need to remove two tiles without damaging any of the others. They have been tiled directly onto plasterboard.

What would be the best way of removing these tiles without causing damage to the surrounding tiles. Should I cut them and the plasterboard out with an angle grinder or is there something else I should use?

Use a hammer drill to break the tile to be removed, should cause the tile to crack, then remove from pieces from center to outwards.

Also remove the grout from around the tile to be removed, this will help in preventing the adjoining tile from breaking.
