Renault Clio Start Up Immobilizer Problems (HELP ME) :(

I have a 2001 renault clio but had nothing but disappointment with it after spending a fortune on repairing all brakes drive shaft and abs rings i now have yet another problem!

when i put my key in the ignition and turn it the first few times nothing happens apart from all the lights on my dash are on and the immobilizer light is flashing!!! i have changed the battery in the key resulting in i can now unlock my car from a further distance any advise would be greatly appreciated.

the light flashing means the key has not been recognised, next time it happens take out the key wait 5 seconds and try again
renaults have problems with both the keys and the transponder fitted around the ignition barrel that picks up the signal from the key
