Two possibilities old chap-
1) The oil cooler (that the oil filter screws on to) has become porous and allowing oil through
2) The cylinder head gasket has blown (usually after the engine has been allowed to overheat).
Run the engine up to temperature (carefully) with the water filler cap off, and see if coolant gushes out. It will be the head gasket in this case.
