Ok, got a flight of steps up to my house, about 7 steps. They are on a brick structure with one exposed wall of brickwork. This wall, plus the bricks on each step face, have blown, or at least many of them have.

Once the loose bits are removed, what's left seems quite solid. But it's ugly.

I was hoping to render it as it's maybe 2-3 square meters at most.

I was going to use https://www.diy.com/departments/tarmac-one-coat-ready-mixed-render-25kg-bag/1501080_BQ.prd as for the size of the project I thought I'd be better off using something premixed.

Question is, should I also put some form of mesh in there, or for the size and the space would it be ok to render without?

Surface will be painted afterwards.

Cheers.
