The render on my extension appears to have been mixed with 10 parts sand to 1 part icing sugar and the masonary paint is peeling off in big sheets, is there a product I can buy to seal and stabilise the render before repainting or am I going to have to knock it all off and start again.
Thanks
Phil

bite the bullit mate if its as bad as you say hack it off!

Afraid there is not much choice - leave it as it is if you can put up with it , or take it off.

There's nothing you can do to improve it as it is, IMHO no point wasting money on decent paint over render that will blow.

Agree with the guys,,, there's no point stabilising the sandy surface, if the render coat itself is weak, and has little cement in it to hold it together.

Many thanks for advice, I guess deep down I knew what I had to do but I needed to hear someone else say it.
Much appreciated.
Phil
