Rendering engineering bricks?

Hi,

I will have a wall with 1 course of engineering bricks on it, the rest will be concrete blocks.

Can these be rendered ok? If required I thought about going over them with a few angle grinder cuts to give it a key.

The joints will be recessed.

I am not rendering over the dpc - we want a stop bead above and below the dpc.
