Some advice please. 1930's semi detached house, purchased from in-laws (!). To the front of the house (west facing), there is evidence of penetrating damp. Inside plastering done many times. This summer, I am going to take off outside render to see damage. A gale blows through around the windows so i guess the best place to start is there. Do I take all render off ? Also, could I get some advice on sort of render to put up ? Can I repoint myself or should I get the experts in to repoint too ?

If you are doing the job , do it all in one hit , ...
I mean dont do just the render then get new windows ,

also I would personally redo the whole front ,

any renderering you do should be a weather proof mix anyway ..

you can get all different render type finishes
