Hi people,
I have a plaster fireplace surround/mantle installed by the people who lived in our house before we moved in.
After using smooth-over to sort out the mess under the wallpaper on the chimney breast (great stuff by the way), the misses scraped a chunk off the mantle (trying to help tidy up) and removed some of the mantle itself. I filled the depression with a little filler but other marks have occured over the last year, so it looks like it wasn't sealed at all.
We would like to repaint it but the stone sprays in B&Q are awful. Can anyone suggest where I could get some decent stone paint and how to best seal it afterwards.
The current colour is beige with a fine white mottle and quite a smooth finish.
(p.s. We had one of those are fresheners with the sticks next to the surround and it left bleached dots where they touched it.)
