Hi all.

I have a request to repaint some old kitchen doors that are currently wood grain veneer/laminate. Rather than specifying complete new doors, is it possible to obliterate the existing finish with a spray/paint primer and then re-apply a new wood grain effect using a graining kit and products?

Any guidance about this being feasible and how I might go about it would be greatfully received.

Much thanks,
Dilalio

I believe so (there may be a preferred primer for the wood grain, which certainly will stick to it). I like to use a combined primer/undercoat on top of the BIN, just to be sure.
