I am considering a face lift exercise in the kitchen. The units are usual mdf and the doors/drawers/end panels are veneered in a close grained light oak type wood. What would be the best paint to use in this case?

Thanks

sugar soap, sand lightly and undercoat then use egg shell for hardwaring.

You could bleach your old wood and lighten with a wash if you like that old shaker style.

Wood stains maybe another option.

Use the mini rollers for smooth surfaces and avoid gloss paint try egg shell or sheen finish.

Fill old handle holes and fit new ones.

Brilliant, many thanks. Plenty of ideas to be getting on with. Appreciate the response!
