I have replaced the motor on a diverter valve now when it is calling for heat it moves over but the two micro switches now seem to be making & breaking as if they the motor is struggling to hold against the springs. I wonder if I have done something wrong here or Should i have perhaps changed the mechanism as well, Anyway would appreciate any ideas.

This is difficult, because you're repairing a faulty actuator head, whereas most professionals would just replace it to avoid callbacks.

What's the make/model of valve?

Thanks for your relply I Am sorry to hear you dont think am professional but one of my failings like to know right down to the finest detail. However, just tried to get poor tenant going as she had been without heating for the want of a tiny little motor all over Xmas & I had been informed just couple hours before hand so had to make do with what I had with me, before I left for long weekend. I ve done a little reseach & I believe it clips the A/C waveform to make A/C waveform to look similar to D/C by the use of a diode and couple of resistor ( not even 1/2 wave rectification) as it motors over past the second micro sw once it hits the second micro sw it breaks it own supply and starts to return under the power of the spring. You see as the discrete components are failing to recifify the motor it will not freeze in its last state.Hence it will therefore keep cycling in this state. So if you ever find yourself short of a complete Div valve assy or come across this fault you could if you wish rectify the (excuse the pun) problem very easily & cheaply by carring a couple of resistors & diodes in your stock.

Regards Mike

I see.

Rawly yes the diode is to "stall " the motor. The resistors are carefully chosen. One of them is there to slow the motor down so it doesn't overshoot, perhaps yours was "gone".
There are some good explanations about on the web on exactly how they work.
The mechanics are pretty poor though, and do wear out, so I wouldn't faff about changing resistors , just bin it!

still a fud I see softus
Whine and name-call all you like, but do you know that the OP is insured to carry out repairs, in a rented property, using method and components that aren't approved by the MZV manufacturer?

At least I'm insured for the work I do.

Softus - you crack me up!
