I'm decorating a bedroom and (where previous occupants did some clumsy diy) there is a foot long split in one floorboard - with a hole about 2 x 1 inch (in old money) at the end.
Is there a way to repair the damaged area without removing any of it or could I get away with replacing that part of the board? The floor will be carpeted.
In another bedroom there is a hole - about 3'' x 1'' in one board. Same applies - though it is hidden by a heavy duty rug at the mo.
I may be selling up in the spring so while I don't want to leave the incomers with holes in the floor, I don't want to go to too much expense either.
Cheers
