I have a lovely old oak gate leg table. Alas, the screws holding the table top on to the legs no longer hold it tight.

No matter how much you tighten the screws the top works loose and rocks around within a few uses. I guess there is no longer a tight enough hole there for the screw to grip in to.

So, the question is this........ What can I do to patch up the holes and give the screws some grip?

The table top is about 3/4" thick.

Cheers

Sam

You could try and use matchstick with glue in the hole and when dried then put the screw in.
