Hi, not sure which forum to post this on as I would class it as plastering & painting.

I’ve found and repaired a penetrating damp issue I noticed which was caused by an external crack which caused my internal walls to bubble and paint flaking off.

im now wondering what is the best course of action to get rid of the internal paintwork damp patch on the wall?

NLM1990, good evening.

What type of external wall did the crack occur in? cavity or solid?

As for drying out? try aiming a fan at the damp area, the air movement can assist hugely in drying out a wall.

its a stone wall, would the damp area need hacking off and replastered or could this damp patch be dried out by a dehumidifier?
