Top hung double glazed window - stuck on the left bottom corner, free on the right bottom corner. I have taken the beading off but i cannot get the double glazed unit out - any ideas???

I have a guy come round before i started and he quoted me £120 to replace the mechanism - does this seem a little steep for Newcastle upon Tyne?

Any ideas how to try and open it myself and possibly replace the parts myself too?

Thanks everyone

I really haven't got a clue how you would open that, forcing it is not the answer though, try taking the handle off and see what you can see.

Or, whip the glass out (filler knife round the beading) then you may have enough play to raise the frame and push out.

Do you have other windows that are the same age/make? If so open one up take the handle off, remove the gear box take pics and look for any codes and makes stamped on it. Google those part numbers and order a replacement (probably £10-20) and put that window back together.
Once the part arrives you will by now know how to remove and refit the gearbox so you just need to get the window open now.
You need to push out the side that does unlock with one hand and lever the other side over at the same time, Ideally removing the glass first as this will make the window more flexible and prevent the glass from being broken.

There is always a risk of further damaging the window so be sure not to force things too much.
