Hi , just a quick one .I notice in the FAQ's on motorised valves that some of the Honeywell valves may not be designed for head replacement. Is this particular models as i have to go to look at what sounds like a problem V4043H valve tomorrow and would like to take the correct part with me to save time.I have a spare head but not the complete valve. All information thankfully recieved in advance.

Where did you find that then? I'd take the whole valve, bet its not changeable. Give em a new one, not something thats been rattling around in the van for 2 years. Simple problem!

If it has a bump on the top of the actuator then the actuator is replacable without a drain down, if not you can drain down and leave the body in place but replace the ball and plate which will then let you fit the new actuator...what's the fault?

Have not actually seen it yet but the symptoms are the boiler and pump are working (Mistral Oil boiler) as is the hot water but no CH.They tell me someone else has looked at it but can not fix it for two weeks. As I know them I've agreed to go have a look .They also said the previos guy told them it was not the motor. Are these valves with a bump on the top old ones as the Honeywell web site says they are all capable of head replacement ?

Also i have a plate with the ball valve from a 3 port version.I suppose these are not interchangeable with the 2 port by any chance.

New ones are all replaceable and are identified by the bump on the top..if the bump isn't there you will need to drain down and replace the ball and plate and then fit the new actuator.

I think he means the plate/ball. I recently bought a couple of these new from BES. Must say from looking at them I can't tell the difference.
