Replacement rainwater gully

Hi, I'm about to replace a very damaged rainwater gully. Is there any advantage to using one of these types over the other, or does it not matter?
Both would fit with the position of the existing clay pipework.

The bottom one gives future access for rodding, jetting or CCTV. The top one doesn’t.
