I have a problem with the valve in my toilet cistern...tried all I know to get it to cut the water off...to no avail..

So I decieded to replace it..here's my problem.! the existing setup has a pipe coming through the side which then connects to the fill valve.

On the replacement unit, the fill unit is in one peice with the inlet pipe passing through the hole in the cistern and then connecting to the 15mm cold water pipe.

The hole in the cistern is not large enough to allow this plastic pipe to fit through..

Are unit still made which are connected internal to the cistern rather than outside it...?

I've looked on google but not been able to find one..nor at hardwarec stores
