Hi all,

I'm going to replace my 3 way diverter valve as I did the head only and it's still not working properly. I'm hoping it will be a straight swapover. Can you please advise if I should sand down the pipes and use ptfe tape when doing back up? What method do you use? Cheers, Rusty

Should only need ptfe tape, unless the system water is filthy.

Are you sure it is a diverter valve and not a mid position valve? thay are not the same, how many wires does it have ? 3 wires it is a diverter valve 5 wires it is a mid position valve

Apology not needed, so many call them the wrong thing, more so counter monkeys in plumbers merchants , then people wonder how they get the wrong advice when we assume you actually have what you say you have, as for replacement some have different threads , so if you can go like for like it will definately just slot in

Thanks, I was indeed going by what the counter lad said Do you reckon I should do 3 turns of PTFE on the olives to seal it up?
