replacing a ceiling rose with spotlight

This insists on being earthed but i didn't with the other one i installed and when i switched this on the fuse tripped.

1. There is only one switch to operate this light
2. Four wires come out of the ceiling in following combo :
a. one unmarked black insulated on it's own
b. another black insulated on its own with yellow marking
c. two joined each labelled red and blue

I have a red blue and yellow to connect to the above. Should this be connected as follows :

yellow ceiling to yellow on fitting
black ceiling to blue on fitting
red/blue ceiling to brown on fitting

Also as the fuse tripped and the fitting made a pop could this have scorched wiring ? only seems to be v slight charring
